The Flag brings to mind memories of past achievements and gives inspiration towards further success. The Flag is the brainchild of Mr. Andre Hinds, who brought the idea to the prefect body in 2010.
Old Harbour High School had its inception on October 12, 1969 as what was called a Junior Secondary type school, then new to Jamaica and funded by the World Bank. Land for the building of the school was obtained at 33 South Street from Mr. Cecil Walker. Students aged twelve to fifteen years were enrolled and placed in Grades Seven to Nine...
Launching a new school, and especially one of the 3 largest of its kind in the island, was no easy task. Motivating a large school population - and to some extent the wider community as well - towards high standards in " values and attitudes", in discipline and in school and extra -curricular activities presented many a challenge. The academic year 2010/2011 brought with it hurdles such as increased class sizes coupled with literacy and numeracy challenges on a decreasing budget but in the end we stand victorious. To Date, no other department has bought this into national focus as the Physical Education Department. This year is no exception. We have excelled in football, netball, Basketball, Track and Field, cricket, Volleyball and hockey.

Old Harbour High School has become a brightly burning beacon for students who have passed through the gates of this noble institution. To those who continue to support us, we say thanks and pray that you will continue doing so as without you we dare not achieve our motto, In Pursuit of Excellence.
The journey has not been without its difficulties, however, there have been many successes and we have continued to advance steadily. Many challenges have occurred mainly because we are living in a rapidly changing society and development occurs because we have a need to survive and in so doing, excel.. Today we are counted among the top non-traditional high schools in Jamaica.
This institution like every other has had its share of difficulties but because we are not just a group of teacher, administrative and ancillary staff, but as a family, we have managed to weathered our storms. We will use the opportunity to thank and encourage all the members of the academic, administrative and ancillary staff, and ask them to continue being committed to serve with excellence.
Now, to the students, parents and associates upon whom will be bestowed the honour of joining our royal family, we bid you welcome and embrace you wholeheartedly.
